General Rules
Behavioral Guidelines:
- In the OOC section of the forums you are free to say what you want as long as you keep it sensible. The staff will warn you if they think what you have written is not acceptable. Please respect other members. Demeaning comments on another person's character, RPing style, or ideas will result in a warning from one of the staff members. Keep it civil, people. Flaming or harassing other users will not be tolerated in any way shape or form.
- No spamming. I don't think I really need to write much for this one. If you need to change something in one of your posts, just use the modify post button.
- Do not advertise another forum, site, or the like in your signature. You are allowed to advertise your own twitter accounts if you like though.
- Apocolyte does not support illegal activity of any kind. We trust you guys, the members, to keep the forum clean from all talk of illegal activity. This includes PMs.
- Apocolyte reserves the right to alter any content that is deemed to be a breech of the rules without notification.
- Plagiarism will not be tolerated
Character Guidelines
Character Rules:
- No god-modding, or RPing as if your character is all-powerful. No power-modding, or controlling the actions of a character who is not yours.
- No killing of another's character unless the owner gives their permission. This rule of course does not count NPCs.
- Do not create a character that is a blatant rip-off of an already existing fictional character. Be original!
- Do not post an IC thread in the OOC section and vice versa.
- Please keep the writer separate from the character. I know you may hate a certain character's guts, but that doesn't mean that you have to hate the writer for that account. Let's all try to be civil here.
- No sexual content of any kind. I repeat, NONE. I do not need to explain more.
Warns and Bans
Warning and Banning System:
- After breaking a rule, you will receive a warning. These may be via PM or through the warning system that ProBoards provides. After your third warning, you will be banned. The option of temp-ban or perma-ban will be left up to the Staff member. Remember though that these warnings are not account based, they are player based. This means that if you have three separate characters and each one has a warning, the next time any of your accounts breaks the rules, you will be banned. Keep in mind that the members of the staff can see ips. All Staff members reserve the right to warn or ban you if they find you breaking any rules or causing strife with any of the other members. A warning will be skipped if you have committed a serious offense.
- If by chance you feel that you have been wrongly given a warning, please contact a member of the Staff and try to work it out with them.
- You will be permanently banned if you are found using proxies, dynamic ips, friend's houses, etc to bypass a ban or temp-ban.
If you have any comments, complaints, or questions about the rules, feel free to contact a Staff member.
